Sometimes movies do a great job actually telling exactly what happened in real life, and sometimes they twist the story way too much. But, for the most part they do a good job helping us understand that basics of whatever happened
articles, textbooks and journals do a good job keeping the history of the slave trade alive but movie take it a step further. Even though films might not be completely historically accurate, they still allow the viewers to gain a better understanding of how things really went down.
Most people would agree they'd rather sit and watch a movie than read through a textbook. Although Hollywood films often leave out a lot of details or change the plot to make it more interesting there is still some truth to what they tell. I believe that people will get a lot more out of these films and that's why they're created. It's often easier to learn about something when you can see it and when you're really into the film.
I think he only benefit of Hollywood films is to make he movie more enticing thus making more people watch the movie. There a lot of movies that could be made but most of them are boring, Hollywood makes sure they make their movies enticing to their viewers.m
I think that movies have less value than other forms of entertainment. This is because film-makers care more about how much money they're going to make at the box office than they do about portraying events as accurately as possible. Although, I do think they are beneficial because not only do they bring more attention to an event or time period but films also have a wider audience which allows all kinds of people to learn about the subject.
I think that Hollywood provides a concept of what really happened. Its Hollywood's job to entertain the public, but the public is supposed to research events if they want to know everything.
The movies tend to exaggerate certain events a lot more. The titanic is a lot more dramatic because the producers need to make money off of the film. They do follow most of the story but some important events are changed to make the movie more dramatic to the audience.

Let's discuss specific movies...how accurate is Pearl Harbor? Saving Private Ryan? What are the benefits?
